Things I'm Looking to Swap

There are a few things in my current rotation that are overdue for an upgrade. Some have just run their course after years of use. Some don't work the same way they used to now that I'm postpartum and my body has genuinely changed.

One thing I want to be upfront about: I haven't actually tried any of these yet. This is research mode, not a review. These are the things I'm eyeing, the options I've narrowed it down to, and the reasoning behind each one. Once I've tested them, the ones that actually work will show up in a future post. That's kind of the whole point of Good Taste — the wishlist before the verdict.
If you've tried any of these, or have a swap recommendation of your own, I really want to hear it. Drop it in the comments.

The Earrings
I've had a pair of oval stud earrings for years that I genuinely love the look of. The problem: they have a traditional post backing, which is incredibly pokey when you're trying to catch a nap on the couch. Before I had a baby, I was a take-everything-off-before-lying-down person. That's just not realistic anymore.
I heard about these Miru flat-back studs on a podcast and the concept makes so much sense.
Same look, same style, but the back sits flush against your ear instead of sticking out. I'd love to just leave the flat-backs in and not have to think about it.
The Deodorant
During pregnancy, I needed something heavy-duty, so I wasn't in a position to experiment. Now I want to get back to something cleaner, but I don't have a clear winner yet.
Two options I'm looking at:
This Primally Pure trio covers a few different scent options in one purchase, which makes a lot of sense for deodorant specifically. Scent is so personal, and it hits different on your body than it does in a candle or a lotion. A trio lets you actually figure out what works before committing.
This Salt & Stone option is another clean option I've seen recommended a lot, and also comes in a trio format for the same reason.
If you've made the switch to something cleaner and it actually works, especially postpartum when things are still adjusting, please tell me. That's the part I'm most nervous about.
The Workout Shorts
This is the section I have the most to say about.
My body has genuinely changed since having a baby, and I'm still figuring out how to dress it. I had a C-section, which adds a whole layer to what "comfortable" even means right now. I had a stack of running shorts I've collected over the years that I finally took to consignment, because I'm being honest with myself: that's not where I am right now, physically or mentally. Trying to squeeze back into old things before you're ready is not the move.
What I've found in my current Target shorts is that a slightly lower, regular-rise waistband is actually more comfortable than anything mid-to-high-rise, at least while the C-section scar is still sensitive. A wide, soft waistband that offers a little control without a hard seam running right across the scar is what I'm after. That's the filter I'm running every option through.
Here's what I've narrowed it down to:
Mid-range:
These CRZ Yoga shorts have a great reputation for softness and a comfortable fit. Good starting point if you want to test the category without a big commitment.
High-end options:
The Lululemon Align comes up constantly in postpartum conversations, specifically for the waistband. Soft, no hard seam, doesn't dig in. These are probably the ones I'm most likely to try first. (And a quick note on sizing if you're shopping these: I was told years ago that their sizing runs about one size larger than US standard, so sizing up one is actually getting your correct size. I cannot confirm this is still true, but it's stuck with me for 15 years.)
Also from Lululemon, the Dance Studio short is a completely different silhouette - more of a flowy short with a flared hem and a wide waistband. Not a biker short. I think it could be a nice option for days when I want to feel a little more put together without switching out of workout gear entirely.
This Set Active set - the shorts and a matching tank - is one I've seen all over lately. There's something about having a matching set that just makes the whole thing feel more intentional. I think it would make me feel good to put on.
What I'm not doing: buying anything that requires me to be a specific size to feel okay about it. Whatever fits comfortably right now is what I'm buying.
The Sandals
I'm almost embarrassed to show my current pair. They're falling apart. The style has been discontinued, which means I actually have to find something new instead of just reordering the same thing.
What I'm looking for: comfortable, easy to throw on, same general color range as what I had. Two options I've found:
These Dolce Vita sandals were recommended by my hairdresser, who was actually wearing them when I asked. She said they're incredibly comfortable. The shape is almost like a jelly version of a Birkenstock, in a tortoise color that isn't that marbled print. You get the look without the pattern being too busy. A completely different style than what I have, but functionally I'd wear them the same way.
Also from Dolce Vita, these are closer to my original pair in structure - a toe loop, strappy sandal - but in an off-white raffia. More summery, a little different, but they're pretty cute and I keep coming back to them.
I'll let you know which one wins.
